Teresa Lockwood, M.A.

A compassionate place to be seen and supported.

Teresa has a compassionate heart for Jesus and for the people He calls us to serve—the “least of these.” Her ministry includes supporting children in foster care and walking alongside foster and adoptive families as they navigate the foster-care system. Eight years as a certified foster parent, along with ongoing involvement in foster-care organizations and training in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), have shaped her steady, supportive care.

Before joining JoyCare, Teresa taught Spanish at the university and high-school levels, led a high-school department, and worked as a tutor and private music teacher with middle- and high-school students. She also served as a discipleship teacher at a classical Christian school in Austin. These years sharpened her ability to listen, encourage growth, and meet young people and families with thoughtful, practical care.

Through online biblical counseling and mentoring, Teresa walks with teen girls and women facing anxiety, rejection, grief, and seasons of uncertainty. She listens with care, helps each person bring their story before the Lord, and encourages them toward the comfort, identity, and freedom found in Christ.
