Do you accept insurance? At JoyCare Center, we want to be transparent about our payment policies to ensure a smooth and informed experience for our clients. We do not accept insurance or bill for third-party payment, which means that payment is expected at the time of service rendered. However, we understand the importance of utilizing insurance benefits, and we are happy to provide you with a receipt containing the necessary insurance codes. This will enable you to self-file with your insurance carrier for potential reimbursement. We strongly recommend discussing your out-of-network options with your insurance carrier beforehand to understand your out-of-pocket expenses and the reimbursement process. While insurance coverage may offer financial advantages, we believe that the decision to choose a counselor should not be solely based on insurance benefits. The quality and effectiveness of the counseling you hope to receive should be the primary consideration. We encourage you to prioritize the importance of your counseling journey when making your decision, understanding that the investment in your well-being is invaluable. At JoyCare Center, our focus is on providing exceptional care and support to facilitate your personal growth and healing. We aim to create a therapeutic experience that goes beyond insurance considerations, ensuring that you receive the compassionate guidance and assistance you deserve. NOTE: Madison Beresford MA is a participating provider with Medi-Share. Please message him for more details.

Will my insurance pay for marriage counseling? At JoyCare Center, we want to ensure that you have all the necessary information regarding insurance coverage. As mentioned previously, we do not accept insurance or bill for third-party payment. If you plan to self-file, we advise discussing your out-of-network options with your insurance carrier to understand the potential for reimbursement. When engaging in these discussions, it is crucial to ask the right questions to your insurance carrier. To gain a clearer understanding of your reimbursement potential, we recommend the following steps: Inquire about your out-of-network coverage and ask if there are any requirements for obtaining an out-of-network authorization for a provider. Familiarize yourself with your policy's exclusions, deductibles, and co-pays. Refrain from asking if they will cover marriage counseling, as this is often not covered by insurance. Reach out to your insurance provider and inquire about their coverage for diagnostic V and Z codes. If they do cover such codes, ask for the exact number of sessions they will reimburse. It's important to keep in mind that the individuals answering calls at insurance companies are not insurance underwriters. Additionally, please be aware that a quote of benefits or authorization does not guarantee payment or verify eligibility. Payment of benefits is subject to all terms, conditions, limitations, and exclusions outlined in your contract at the time of service. Our team at JoyCare Center is dedicated to providing you with the necessary support and guidance throughout your counseling journey, regardless of insurance considerations. We believe that the focus should be on your well-being and finding the right path to healing and personal growth.

What is the cost for counseling and coaching services? At JoyCare Center, every new client is encouraged to schedule a no-cost 20 minute consult to determine is counseling and coaching services are the right fit for you them. Each counselor and coach sets their own donation rate structure. Our raters are significantly lower than other counseling and coaching centers as a way to benefit our communities and provide care without creating financial burden. As a community driven not-for-profit it is important to know that we have never and never will turn anyone away due to an inability to pay our suggested donation rate. For clients facing specific need we are glad to offer sliding scale accommodations and/or charging what the client would have paid out-of-pocket as a copay. Suggested donations are appreciated according to the agreement made with your provider, generally at the start of each session if a card is not on file for your payment option. For counseling services with Madison Beresford, FSA, HSA and other health savings accounts are accepted forms of payment. All providers accept Visa, Discover, AMEX, Mastercard. ApplePay, Venmo & Paypal are also available upon request.

What is your emotional support animal policy?EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMAL POLICY While many of our staff love animals and are pet owners, the JoyCare Center is limited in our ability to provide assessments to document the need for an Emotional Support Animal (ESA). ESAs are viewed under the Federal Housing Act (FHAct, 42 U.S.C.A. 3601 et seq) as a “reasonable accommodation” for those who have a physical or mental disability. Guidelines and Documentation Requirements Related to ESAs If you have not been diagnosed with a disability and want to be evaluated to see if you are eligible to have an ESA, you must find a mental health provider in the community to diagnose you and recommend that obtaining an ESA is a reasonable course of treatment given your condition. If you have been diagnosed with a disability and desire an evaluation to see if you are eligible for an ESA, Madison Beresford is currently the sole provider that can provide that assessment and certification for you in accordance to the Federal Housing Act.
