  • What is your emotional support animal policy?
EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMAL POLICY While many of our staff love animals and are pet owners, the JoyCare Center is limited in our ability to provide assessments to document the need for an Emotional Support Animal (ESA). ESAs are viewed under the Federal Housing Act (FHAct, 42 U.S.C.A. 3601 et seq) as a “reasonable accommodation” for those who have a physical or mental disability. Guidelines and Documentation Requirements Related to ESAs If you have not been diagnosed with a disability and want to be evaluated to see if you are eligible to have an ESA, you must find a mental health provider in the community to diagnose you and recommend that obtaining an ESA is a reasonable course of treatment given your condition. If you have been diagnosed with a disability and desire an evaluation to see if you are eligible for an ESA, Madison Beresford is currently the sole provider that can provide that assessment and certification for you in accordance to the Federal Housing Act.
  • What Is Biblical Counseling?
Biblical counseling is a Christ-centered approach to healing that focuses on applying biblical principles to life’s challenges. Unlike psychotherapy, which often relies on secular theories and practices, biblical counseling seeks to address emotional and spiritual struggles through the lens of Scripture. It involves inviting Jesus into the healing process, trusting in His guidance, wisdom, and transformative power. By aligning with God’s word, biblical counseling aims to provide hope, direction, and genuine restoration for individuals seeking healing and growth. Our ordained counselors offer a unique blend of support and biblical counseling care. They are not just trained professionals; they are surrendered shepherds, equipped to walk with you on your journey to healing and growth, always grounded in the love and wisdom of God’s word.
